Receptionists

There are 4 part-time receptionists who work in the practice. Their job is to ease the flow of patient consultations with doctors so that the doctor can see as many patients as possible within the working day.

It would be helpful if you can give the receptionist as much information as possible if requesting urgent appointments or home visits to enable the doctor to plan his work load appropriately.

Telephone Advice

If you require advice from the doctor please telephone the surgery and request a telephone consultation. You will then be given the first available telephone appointment.

Extended Hours

As part of the Together4Healthcare Federation we also offer extended hours appointments Monday Friday and at weekends.  Ask at reception for details.

Nurse Clinics

Our practice nurse holds clinics every day by appointment, although any emergencies will generally be dealt with on the same day. She is available for consultation during morning and evening surgeries each day. She runs diabetic, asthma, child and immunisation sessions and also deals with smoking cessation, family planning, cervical cytology screening and all other health promotion issues. If you need to phone the nurse for advice please call after 11:45 and if she is still busy with patients you may be asked to call again later.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00 if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.
